About the role

AECOM is recruiting talented individuals to lead our Industrial Engineering team across multiple regions and offices. Reporting to a Market Sector Leader or Industrial Principal, you will support the delivery of high-value Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial projects, contributing to both technical excellence and commercial success while developing client relationships and business development.

As the Senior Industrial Engineer, you will develop and deliver a high-performing Process Optimization capability that delivers complex, high-impact projects across a range of Federal and Commercial industries, while embedding Lean thinking and industrial best practice into all aspects of delivery.

This role will include travel across the United States, as well as internationally as needed (approximately 15-20% travel). Due to the nature of the role, United States citizenship is required. Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of value propositions for process optimization, manufacturing, and industrial advisory services
  • Develop data-driven insights and translate them into practical, deliverable solutions
  • Manage and deliver projects and workstreams to agreed quality, cost, and schedule
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering techniques to analyze and improve client operations
  • Build effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and thought leadership
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across AECOM
  • Contribute to the development of best practice methods and standards
  • Support capability development through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline plus 8 years of related experience, or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Background in manufacturing, industrial engineering, process improvement, or related operational environments
  • Experience working within or alongside highly regulated industries (e.g., defense, aviation, nuclear, infrastructure, manufacturing)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical, value-driven solutions
  • Experience applying Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Professional memberships and/or certifications
  • 15 years overall industry experience, with 3-5 years of role-specific experience
  • Experience applying Lean principles in non-manufacturing environments
  • Consulting experience in complex project environments
  • Process mapping, analysis, and optimization
  • Production systems, facility design, or industrial operations
  • Data analysis and performance improvement
  • Project delivery and workstream management
  • Automation, robotics, or manufacturing systems integration
  • Digital manufacturing, simulation, or data analytics tools

Pay

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $130,000 to $187,000 yearly.
