About the role

As a Senior Indirect Category Supplier Manager, you will develop category strategies for managed categories, validate them with Global and Regional Category Managers and internal partners, and conduct strategic sourcing initiatives. You will plan and implement negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmarking, and cost management. Through management of the category strategy, you will build positive relationships with internal customers, driving best-in-class cost, supply, and resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Category Management & Strategic Sourcing of Facilities CSA and MEP Subcontract Works Package:
    • Recommend resource levels across sourcing categories, projects, and functions.
    • Recommend value improvement targets, including revenue growth, spend reduction, purchasing efficiency, customer service, and supplier performance.
    • Establish procedures to track stakeholder satisfaction with key suppliers.
    • Analyze sourcing trends and provide recommendations for assigned categories.
    • Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting.
    • Develop and validate category strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers and internal partners.
  • Cost Management & Analysis:
    • Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers.
    • Provide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal customers.
    • Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets.
    • Use should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace.
  • Negotiation:
    • Lead negotiations for contract renewals, extensions, pricing, transfers, and other commercial matters.
    • Lead sourcing events and RFQ processes through negotiation execution.
    • Incorporate savings targets and contractual requirements into negotiations.
    • Develop supplier contract strategies and negotiate, lead, and enforce contract terms and conditions.
    • Conduct sourcing initiatives and negotiations supported by supplier, industry, and cost analysis.
  • Business Partnering:
    • Collaborate with customers to deliver strategic solutions.
    • Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spending categories through relationships with key customers.
    • Drive a customer-centric approach while developing collaborative partnerships that improve cost-effectiveness, supply chain efficiency, and resilience.
  • AI Proficiency:
    • Leverage AI-enabled tools and digital technologies (e.g., Microsoft Copilot and other approved AI solutions) to improve productivity, analyze data, generate insights, streamline workflows, and support informed business decision-making while maintaining compliance with Micron policies and data governance requirements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in the Semiconductor industry, EPC functions, or facilities procurement functions.
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
  • Strong negotiating and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively maintain relationships with various individuals.
  • Experience in material cost structure understanding and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction and understanding of the standard procurement process.
  • Knowledgeable in MEP (Mechanical Electrical Process).
  • Knowledgeable in CSA (Civil Structure & Architectural).

Pay

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $101,000.00 - $173,000.00 a year. Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses, and equity. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay based on work location and additional factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
