About the role
The Senior Implementation Specialist is part of the Mutuals Integrations team within Product Operations, supporting the configuration, implementation, and testing of insurance products within internal systems. This role works closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical resources to gather requirements, validate product functionality, and ensure accurate implementation of policy forms, rating structures, and underwriting rules.
The team's broader goal is to ensure that system changes to our insurance products are configured correctly, tested thoroughly, and delivered in a way that meets both regulatory and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for insurance product implementations, enhancements, and system changes.
- Partner with Product Managers, Actuaries, Compliance, and Engineering to translate product specifications, underwriting rules, and regulatory requirements into clear business and system requirements.
- Configure and support the implementation of insurance products, including coverages, rating structures, forms, and underwriting rules within internal systems.
- Review product configuration, rating algorithms, and rate tables to help ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with approved filings.
- Research and analyze policy forms, endorsements, and regulatory filings to support compliant product implementation.
- Develop, execute, and document test cases and test scenarios for system, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Validate rating calculations, coverage rules, policy forms, and system functionality; identify defects, document findings, and partner with technical teams through resolution and retesting.
- Maintain accurate implementation documentation and support knowledge sharing for new product launches and system enhancements.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to support timely and accurate delivery of product initiatives.
- Continuously build knowledge of Branch products, insurance concepts, system functionality, and regulatory requirements to increase individual effectiveness and contribution over time.
Skills, Knowledge, And Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in insurance product implementation, business analysis, system configuration, or a related field; property & casualty insurance experience preferred.
- Foundational understanding of insurance policy forms, endorsements, and regulatory filings, with the ability to apply that knowledge to day-to-day work.
- Ability to gather, document, and validate business and system requirements with guidance as needed; developing proficiency in reviewing rating algorithms and rate structures.
- Experience developing, executing, and documenting test cases to support system implementations and product changes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across teams.
- Familiarity with policy administration systems, insurance rating methodologies, and underwriting concepts; willingness and ability to deepen technical expertise over time.
