Senior Imaging Technologist 60% (WEO) CT/DX - Downtown Campus
About the role
The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus Department of Radiology seeks a Senior Imaging Technologist or an Imaging Technologist to assist physicians in diagnosing patients through imaging procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assists physicians with imaging procedures.
- Completes required continuing education to maintain ARRT and Iowa Permit to Practice.
- Interviews patients and records medical history.
- Affirms patient’s physical state and assesses I.V. needs or other required safeguards.
- Maintains equipment and reports faulty equipment.
- Operates radiographic imaging equipment and practices radiation safety.
- Prepares sterile trays and assists with special procedures.
- Identifies, accesses, and prepares medication as prescribed.
- Prepares patients for invasive procedures and adjusts technical factors.
- Provides emotional, psychological, and physical care to patients.
- Completes clerical tasks such as requisitions and filing.
- Moves patients between transportation modes and x-ray tables.
Requirements
- Senior Imaging Technologist: Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field, excellent communication skills, and current ARRT certification.
- Imaging Technologist: Two-year program completion or equivalent, and current ARRT certification.
Qualifications
- Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to operate radiographic imaging equipment and practice radiation safety.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care protocols.
Benefits

Pay
Salary range: $5,000 - $6,000 per year based on qualifications.
Schedule
WEO (Weekend On-Call) Saturday and Sunday.
