Senior Imaging Technologist (0830-1700 OR 0930-1800)IR/DX/OR -Radiology- Downtown Campus

About the role

The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus Department of Radiology seeks to fill two positions: a Senior Imaging Technologist or an Imaging Technologist. Candidates should indicate in their cover letter which position they are applying for or apply for both.

Responsibilities

• Aids physicians in imaging procedures.
• Maintains equipment and reports faulty equipment.
• Operates radiographic imaging equipment and practices radiation safety.
• Prepares sterile trays and assists with special procedures.
• Administers contrast materials and prepares patients for invasive procedures.
• Carefully cares for patients, ensuring their emotional, psychological, and physical needs are met.
• Completes clerical tasks, such as requisitions and filing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in radiographic technical procedures.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Skills

• Proficiency in radiographic imaging equipment operation.
• Ability to maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
• Knowledge of radiation safety protocols.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prepare sterile environments and assist with special procedures.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Pay

The Imaging Technologist classification salary is $4, and the Senior Imaging Technologist classification salary is $5.

Schedule

Full-time, 1st shift, rotating holidays, and on-call.
