This isn't just a job, it's a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence. HDR is looking for a Senior ICT (Information & Communication Technology) Security Designer to join our team in Charleston, SC due to continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Complete a variety of project tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Produce floor plans, device layouts, riser diagrams, details, and system schematics for telecommunications, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection.
- Review RFPs, scopes of work, and technical specifications for integrators and vendors.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and as-built documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Act as a technical authority for telecommunications and/or physical security infrastructure.
- Have strong general engineering knowledge of either telecommunication (horizontal/backbone cabling) or electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection etc.) and operational coordination with commercial hardware.
- Show the ability to design cabling pathways such as conduits or cable tray systems as well as proper bonding systems.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies.
- Avoid performing other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Engineering Bachelor's degree, RCDD or PSP is preferred
- 10 years of related work experience
- U.S. citizenship is required due to client contract requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Can-Do and problem-solving mind-set
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong computer skills and a proficiency or ability to work in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in Revit, AutoCAD is a bonus
- Must be able to learn new applications quickly
- Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices
