Senior ICT Security Designer

About the role

This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence. HDR is looking for a Senior ICT (Information & Communication Technology) Security Designer to join our team in Charleston, SC due to continued growth.

Responsibilities

• Complete a variety of project tasks including but not limited to the following:
• Produce floor plans, device layouts, riser diagrams, details, and system schematics for telecommunications, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection.
• Review RFPs, scopes of work, and technical specifications for integrators and vendors.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and as-built documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Act as a technical authority for telecommunications and/or physical security infrastructure.
• Have strong general engineering knowledge of either telecommunication (horizontal/backbone cabling) or electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection etc.) and operational coordination with commercial hardware.
• Show the ability to design cabling pathways such as conduits or cable tray systems as well as proper bonding systems.
• Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies.
• Avoid performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Engineering Bachelor's degree, RCDD or PSP is preferred
• 10 years of related work experience
• U.S. citizenship is required due to client contract requirements

• Can-Do and problem-solving mind-set
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong computer skills and a proficiency or able to work in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education
• Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices
• Must be able to learn new applications quickly
