About the Role

The Sr Research Compliance Analyst (IACUC Coordinator) is a full‑time position based in Denton, TX. This role supports the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) by coordinating protocol submissions, renewals, and amendments, and ensuring that animal research activities comply with institutional policies and federal regulations. The coordinator schedules and organizes IACUC meetings, prepares agendas and minutes, maintains accurate records, and tracks committee decisions. Daily responsibilities include serving as a primary point of contact for researchers, assisting with training and compliance documentation, monitoring reporting requirements, and collaborating with other compliance and research support units. The position also involves maintaining databases, preparing regulatory reports, and contributing to continuous improvement of animal care and use oversight processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate IACUC protocol submissions, renewals, and amendments.
• Ensure animal research activities comply with institutional policies and federal regulations.
• Schedule and organize full‑board IACUC meetings; prepare agendas and minutes.
• Maintain accurate records of protocols, decisions, and meeting documentation.
• Track committee decisions and communicate post‑meeting actions to researchers.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for researchers regarding IACUC matters.
• Assist researchers with training, compliance documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with other compliance and research support units to ensure cohesive oversight.
• Maintain databases and prepare regulatory reports related to animal research.
• Provide initial reviews of submissions and conduct risk assessments for compliance components.
• Review complex applications, protocols, policies, and procedures related to animal research and offer guidance to investigators.
• Monitor and reconcile research projects with funding components.
• Assist with special projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives for animal care and use oversight.

Qualifications

• Experience with research administration, compliance, or regulatory oversight in an academic or research setting.
• Knowledge of animal research regulations and guidelines (e.g., IACUC processes, federal and institutional policies), or the ability to learn these quickly.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail for tracking protocols, deadlines, and documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with faculty, staff, and regulatory bodies.
• Proficiency with office productivity software and databases for recordkeeping, reporting, and meeting coordination.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and maintain a professional, inclusive, and confidential work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as biology, animal science, research administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience working with IACUC, animal facilities, or research compliance programs is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
