We’re seeking a Conveyance/Hydraulic Modeling Engineer to help lead water and wastewater system planning, modeling, and design development services for a variety of related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work with other members of our local, regional, and national teams to perform specialized hydraulic modeling and capital planning assignments for conveyance and management systems of varied sizes, configurations, and capacities, and for a variety of clients.
  • Engagements will focus on wastewater and/or potable water systems, but may also involve irrigation, hydropower, and stormwater applications, supporting transmission, distribution, collection, treatment facilities, flood control, industrial facilities, or other needs.
  • Lead and perform technical tasks, quality control, and coordinating resources to support multiple concurrent projects through all phases of planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Coordinate with other project disciplines, and mentor and direct the work of early-career engineering staff.
  • Contribute to client engagement and development, and professional services marketing, sales, and business development pursuits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or other applicable Engineering disciplines.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Eight or more years of progressive engineering experience in water/wastewater system and infrastructure related disciplines, hydraulic evaluations, and design (water resources, stormwater, drinking water, and/or wastewater), including with flow management, diversion, conveyance, piping and open channel systems, pumping, control valves, storage, other typical system hydraulic structures and elements, and controls.
  • Core technical hydraulic model development, calibration, and evaluation experience using at least two of the modeling software packages listed above, or similar, along with ArcGIS Pro, in the planning and analysis of water or wastewater systems, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Varied and progressive experience developing, planning, advancing, and delivering engineering modeling studies and associated technical reports and presentations.
  • Familiarity and experience with typical and related system planning approaches, technical and industry standards, regulations, and requirements.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and with technical writing, editing, and presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience working and collaborating effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, both internally and with external and client partners, to accomplish complex engineering, planning, and design assignments.
  • Attention to detail, quality, and a demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate, and self-manage your focus and engagements to deliver effectively on project and production delivery commitments and requirements with minimal oversight.

Qualifications

  • Twelve or more years of engineering experience in water related disciplines.
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Design and/or project management experience.
  • Experience leading and mentoring junior professionals in hydraulic modeling.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and programming, such as Python Scripting for GIS and Visual Basic for Excel.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $248,800.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
