Senior HVAC Technician
Location: Charleston, South Carolina (On-Site)
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This opportunity offers a chance to play a key part in improving equipment reliability, reducing maintenance costs, and supporting safe, efficient facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, rooftop units, VRF systems, VAV systems, heat pumps, cooling towers, and building automation and control systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, respond to emergency service calls, and recommend energy-efficient solutions based on system performance.
- Install, modify, and commission HVAC systems and related controls while interpreting blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Provide technical guidance, maintain work documentation in CMMS, and communicate clearly with facility stakeholders on issues, recommendations, and equipment needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or HVAC certification preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, refrigeration systems, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record, and ability to pass background screening and drug testing if required.
