About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC & Fire Alarm Networking Technician to support commercial and multi-family residential properties. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical knowledge, sophisticated troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to connect, diagnose, and support integrated building systems.

Additionally, as Project Coordinator, Facilities, you will coordinate and prioritize all aspects of projects including planning, communication, execution, and completion. You will serve as a specialist for all activities associated with the engineering, installation, testing, maintenance, and operation of electrical distribution systems, HVAC systems, and electronic/mechanical components in the data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced HVAC service, diagnostics, repair, preventive maintenance, and technical support for commercial and multi-family residential properties.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support fire alarm networking systems, including networked panels, communication pathways, devices, and system connectivity.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, property teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex mechanical, controls, and fire alarm networking issues.
• Document service activities, findings, repairs, system configurations, and recommendations accurately and consistently.
• Produce all processes and procedures for Mission Critical facilities including preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Supply all engineering services through internal and external resources for Nationwide Realty Investors (NRI) facilities, including architectural, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and data centers.
• Ensure proper project documentation is completed according to governmental entities (e.g., NFPA, NETA, IEEE, AIA).
• Coordinate all phases of installation of data processing equipment, including determining location, installation requirements, schedules, connectivity, power, and providing detailed schematics.
• Create and maintain raised floor plans, determining locations for electrical and mechanical equipment, and coordinating master plans with Nationwide Technology staff.
• Incorporate hot and cold aisles, data and power paths, and locations of data processing equipment.
• Lead major projects such as capital improvement, tenant improvement, financial, and data processing projects.
• Perform tasks associated with facility maintenance and repair, including responding to emergencies 24x7 and performing hands-on tasks to remedy issues.

Requirements

• Extensive experience supporting commercial HVAC systems.
• Strong experience with fire alarm networking, including networked fire alarm panels, system communications, connectivity, troubleshooting, and integration within commercial buildings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills across HVAC, controls, electrical, and low-voltage systems.
• Knowledge of applicable fire alarm, life-safety, electrical, and building-code requirements.
• Relevant fire alarm, low-voltage, controls, or manufacturer certifications are highly valued.
• Specialist in the full process of installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of electrical power distribution systems, HVAC, life safety systems, and other electrical/mechanical devices.
• Experienced knowledge in electrical and mechanical test equipment.
• Ability to install, maintain, repair, and complete complex electrical distribution systems, HVAC systems, and electrical/mechanical devices.
• Ability to interpret advanced environmental system blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Ability to supervise others in safe work procedures on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong communication, documentation, prioritization, and customer-service skills.
• Command skills necessary for verbal and written communication at all levels.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in an engineering subject area or technical/vocational studies with equivalent work experience.
• Typically, eight or more years of proven experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, including electrical power distribution systems and HVAC systems in a raised floor environment.
• Certifications in Level I Vibration Analyst and Thermographer, State Hydronics License, State Electrical License, State Fire Alarm License, State HVAC License, and CFC refrigerant are strongly preferred.

Pay

The national salary range for this role is $79,500.00 - $148,500.00. The expected starting salary range is $79,500.00 - $119,500.00. Placement within this range will be determined by skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as market conditions.

Schedule

• Overtime eligible (Non-Exempt).
• Building maintenance environment with potential for overtime, non-standard, and/or rotating shifts.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies 24x7 and perform hands-on tasks to remedy issues.
• A valid driver's license and safe driving record are required.
