About the Role

Caterpillar's Excavation Division designs and manufactures tracked and wheeled excavators in sizes ranging from 11 to over 90 metric tons, forestry products, and Cat Work Tools. The Senior Human Resources Manager for the Excavation Division manages a broad scope of responsibilities that includes support for U.S. Manufacturing Operations, the European Design Center, and global Product Management organizations. This role helps set the division HR strategy, governs strategic HR initiatives, and is responsible for division people processes including performance management, advanced compensation/total rewards, HR analytics, and mobility programs.

The position requires strong consulting capability, data-driven decision making, global collaboration, and the ability to influence at multiple organizational levels. This role partners with leaders at all levels globally to deliver people strategies aligned to business objectives and provides leadership across core HR disciplines including employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, compensation and benefits, and organization design.
  • Align HR policies and programs for the division, facility, or region to promote employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities, developing data-driven recommendations for senior management.
  • Collaborate with senior management as a strategic advisor to identify and prioritize HR initiatives aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Lead a team of 5-10 HR professionals, fostering collaboration with other Centers of Excellence and serving as thought leaders to the business and HR.
  • Develop and implement change management methods and materials to facilitate deployment of HR programs and processes.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree or equivalent experience desired.
  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes for sound decision-making.
  • Global Perspective: Knowledge of international business issues, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Knowledge of Organization: Understanding of the organization’s vision, structure, culture, and values to align capabilities with business goals.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze situations and make productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies to impact decisions within and outside the organization.
  • Leadership: Ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in achieving objectives with a long-term perspective.
  • Human Resources Consulting: Knowledge of HR approaches, tools, and techniques to guide and advise managers on HR initiatives.
  • Talent Management: Ability to attract, recruit, retain, and develop talent to achieve organizational goals.

Additional Information

  • This position is located in Peoria, IL.
  • This role requires working onsite five days a week.
  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Global travel up to 20% may be required.

Pay

Pay Range: $159,120.00 - $238,680.00. Compensation and benefits may vary depending on job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
