About the Role

Gaylord Hotels is seeking a Sr. HR Manager- STAR Relations to direct and work with Human Resources and Operations employees to lead daily activities of the Human Resource Office, including oversight of recruitment, total compensation, training and development, association/labor relations, and performance management. This role focuses on delivering HR services that meet or exceed employee needs and enable business success, while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and operating procedures. As the subject matter expert on STAR Relations, HRIS systems, internal processes, and compliance/internal/external audits, the Sr. HR Manager will provide support and guidance to non-senior level HR team members.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years' experience in human resources, management operations, or a related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major with 2 years' experience in human resources, management operations, or a related professional area

Responsibilities

  • Leading and Monitoring Recruitment and Hiring Activity: Assist in interviewing and hiring HR team members; establish and maintain contact with external recruitment sources; attend job fairs and document outreach efforts; network with local organizations to source candidates; oversee candidate identification and selection processes; provide subject matter expertise on selection procedures; partner with vendor partners for effective advertisement; perform quality control on vendor performance
  • Administering and Providing Education Related to Employee Benefits: Work with unemployment services provider to respond to claims; review provider reports for accuracy; prepare and distribute unemployment claim activity reports; attend unemployment hearings and ensure proper representation; ensure department has available resources to administer employee benefits
  • Managing Employee Development: Support departmental orientation programs; ensure employees are cross-trained; use on-the-job training tools and conduct training when appropriate; coordinate new hire orientation; ensure leadership team participation in training programs; collaborate with management on departmental orientation processes
  • Maintaining Employee Relations: Assist in maintaining effective employee communication channels; review progressive discipline documentation for accuracy and consistency; utilize open door policy to address employee concerns; ensure employee issues are referred appropriately; partner with Loss Prevention on accident investigations; communicate performance expectations
  • Managing Legal and Compliance Practices: Ensure employee files contain required paperwork and are properly maintained and secured; ensure compliance with Privacy Act; maintain medical records separately and confidentially; facilitate drug testing processes; communicate property rules and regulations; ensure safety and security policies are communicated; conduct periodic claims reviews; represent HR at Safety Committee; manage Workers Compensation claims; oversee selection/non-selection and offers processes

Pay

$79,000–$101,000 annually, bonus eligible
