About us

The Commonwealth of Virginia selected a Cintra-led consortium to finance, design, build, operate, and maintain express lanes on Interstate 66 Outside the Beltway. The project aims to relieve congestion, improve safety, and provide more predictable travel times. The project corridor extends approximately 22 miles along Interstate 66 from the Capital Beltway (I-495) to Gainesville (US Route 29).

The project includes three toll-free general-purpose lanes in each direction and two express lanes in each direction with an advanced open-road electronic toll collection system. It also features expanded transit service, park-and-ride lots, and interchange enhancements, connecting several shared use paths to enhance multimodal options. As an innovative and efficient public-private partnership, the project will save the Commonwealth of Virginia $2.5 billion net compared to traditional methods.

Job Description

About the role

The HR Generalist, Senior will assist the Human Resources team with day-to-day operations, covering managerial tasks as needed. They will be responsible for full-cycle hiring efforts, benefits administration, compliance, and record keeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the full cycle hiring efforts, including recruiting strategy, screening resumes, scheduling candidates, interviewing, and extending offers.
  • Updates and maintains job posting boards.
  • Aid in communication of employment offers and negotiation of start dates.
  • Conduct background checks and team member eligibility verifications.
  • Process I9s through E-Verify and ensure compliance.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation, including benefits enrollment, new hire announcements, database updates, and creation of employee personnel files.
  • Facilitate the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews and monitoring/assisting with associated tasks and checklists.
  • Develop and maintain complete and accurate HR files for all employees, ensuring compliance with Company policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintain the company’s organization chart and update it monthly.
  • Log data and maintain personnel files and upload documents into the HRIS.
  • Coordinate administrative processing and benefits administration for new hires, terminations, and qualifying events.
  • Respond to verification of employment requests.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of premium billing and/or accounting team to ensure proper invoicing from health care companies and deductions from employees.
  • Document, prepare correspondence, and track FMLA & ADA requests.
  • Perform audits on employee records.
  • Assist with coordination of company or employee events.
  • Assist with strategic HR projects as necessary.
  • Track and report monthly HR metrics.
  • Work closely with managers in recruiting and compliance efforts.
  • Help conduct investigations.
  • Assist with training and enforcement of Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a relevant field. 8+ years of cumulative experience in a corporate environment in HR and/or related fields. Knowledge of HR practices and personnel laws is preferred.

  • Work Environment & Physical Demands: Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Requires ability to adjust focus, as necessary to use a computer. Regularly stands, walks, sits, talks, and hears.
