About the role

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and employee-focused HR Generalist to support daily Human Resources operations and serve as a resource for employees and leaders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, complaints, workplace issues, and policy-related questions.
  • Conduct thorough and objective intake meetings, documenting concerns, timelines, and relevant facts.
  • Triage employee relations matters and escalate complex or high-risk issues to HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Support investigations involving workplace concerns, policy violations, and employee complaints.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and case documentation.
  • Support day-to-day workforce management requests including scheduling adjustments, attendance concerns, time-off requests, and staffing-related inquiries.
  • Partner with field managers to ensure consistent application of attendance, scheduling, and workplace policies.
  • Monitor attendance and workforce trends to identify potential issues, gaps, or compliance concerns.
  • Maintain employee data accuracy within HRIS (UKG), workforce management, and related systems.
  • Afford assistance with offboarding, employee status changes, and general HR administrative processes.
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing during absences, peak periods, or business needs.
  • Afford assistance with timecard audits as needed to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked, overtime, and pay adjustments.
  • Respond to employee payroll-related questions including pay, deductions, and direct deposit inquiries as needed.
  • Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and HR best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR workflows, processes, and employee experience.
  • Afford assistance with HR initiatives, projects, audits, and training programs as needed.
  • Support implementation of HR policies, procedures, and company-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience required.
  • Experience in employee relations, payroll support, workforce management, or HR operations strongly preferred.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and employee relations principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, workforce management systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
