Senior Human Resources Generalist
About the Role
The Senior Human Resources Generalist (HRG) serves as the liaison supporting all Human Resources functions within American Battery Solutions. This role requires experience in managing the full employment life cycle and plays a key role in writing and implementing HR policies, procedures, programs, and day-to-day administration of HR processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings, develop and maintain position descriptions, recruit, schedule interviews, and facilitate hiring of qualified applicants.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, including background checks, employee eligibility verifications, Human Performance Evaluations (HPE), new hire orientation, and tracking onboarding progress in Smartsheet.
- Attract applicants through LinkedIn, networking, job boards, career fairs, state employment agencies, and other sources to generate candidate interest.
- Develop and maintain candidate pipelines in advance of hiring needs.
- Manage the performance and recruitment modules in ADP; develop and maintain processes and provide company training as needed.
- Create onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations.
- Provide support and guidance for complex, specialized, and sensitive HR issues, including investigations, performance warnings, PIPs, and terminations.
- Conduct exit interviews, provide required exit documents, conduct exit surveys, deactivate employee access, and notify appropriate departments and third-party vendors.
- Maintain and audit the ADP system, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal labor and employment laws.
- Administer and execute human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance reviews, talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, retention, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
- Support HR-related announcements and communications, and manage HR documentation, including employee agreements, handbooks, and codes of conduct.
- Maintain and update the employee handbook, ensuring compliance with employment laws through internal and external research.
- Assist with planning and execution of employee events and participate in the Wellness Committee.
- Monitor time and attendance and assist in resolving payroll-related issues in ADP.
- Work off-shift hours and travel as needed.
- Generate internal employment documents and reports, analyze HR metrics (KPIs), assess cost-effectiveness of recruitment and HR resources, and input purchase orders into PLEX.
- Oversee ABS’s student programs for interns and co-ops.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations and company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive professional HR experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field with five (5) years of experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with HRIS systems; ADP Workforce Now preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a technical or manufacturing industry (preferred).
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (preferred).

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment.

- Works in temperature-controlled office environments, with occasional outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments.
- The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.
