Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
• 3+ years of supervisory experience managing HR professionals
• Experience with organizations employing 250+ staff
• Thorough knowledge of New Jersey employment law
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrated experience with employee relations, performance management, policy development, compensation administration, and compliance oversight
• PREFERRED: Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
• PREFERRED: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
• PREFERRED: Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, housing, social services, or government-funded programs

About the role

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking an experienced, strategic Senior Human Resources Director to provide high-level oversight of the Human Resources Department. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role supervises and supports the Director of Human Resources, who oversees daily HR operations, and serves as a key advisor to executive leadership on personnel, compliance, workforce planning, and organizational culture.
