About the Role
Parsons is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our New Jersey Vehicle Inspection & Compliance (NJVIC) program. This role plays a pivotal part in strategically supporting the NJVIC program while actively engaging in hands-on tasks. In this fast-paced, highly visible position, you will collaborate with managers, union representatives, and the HR team to align strategic priorities with business needs. You will also foster positive labor relations to ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and build strong relationships with employees, union representatives, and management. This position is based in the Hamilton, New Jersey office.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the HR point of contact for employees and management in a unionized environment, ensuring compliance with the CBA and fostering positive labor relations.
- Provide guidance and support to management on interpreting and applying the terms of the CBA, labor laws, and company policies.
- Conduct investigations into workplace concerns, including disciplinary matters, ensuring fairness, consistency, and adherence to company policies and union agreements in conjunction with the employee relations department.
- Utilize data and analytics to drive business insight, informing decision-making in staffing and maintaining appropriate union staffing levels.
- Support full-cycle recruitment, including facilitating on-site union orientations.
- Demonstrate proficient knowledge of FMLA, NJFLA, ADA, and NJ State Disability. Determine eligibility in alignment with the requirements of these federal and state programs and offer guidance to both union employees and management.
- Navigate diverse and sensitive situations in a dynamic, high-visibility union environment with strong interpersonal skills.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, including those related to grievances, disciplinary actions, and labor relations activities.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience that includes employee relations, performance management, labor relations, and HR within a unionized environment.
- Experience with recruitment and administering federal and state programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at handling difficult conversations and demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in prioritizing, adapting to changes, and maintaining ongoing support.
- Demonstrated success in building strong and productive partnerships with employees and managers at all levels, recognized as a trusted advisor.
- Strong business acumen, sharp critical thinking skills, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in advanced use of Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Pay
Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $196,400.00
