About the Role
Performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance inspections/calibrations on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment. Independently services complex medical device systems and high-risk equipment in high acuity clinical areas.
Responsibilities
- Independently services complex medical device systems and high-risk equipment.
- Works collaboratively with Information Services Department and other support service departments to manage integrated medical systems.
- Performs routine repairs on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment using basic test equipment and repair tools.
- Prepares and maintains related documentation.
- Performs preventative maintenance testing of routine electromechanical medical equipment according to established procedures.
- Understands medical device regulations and ensures assigned medical devices are managed in compliance with those regulations.
- Participates in inspection tours of clinical and/or research areas using medical equipment.
- Documents all service actions and complies with documentation guidelines and metrics defined in department policy.
- Builds and maintains customer relationships and independently manages clinical resource area(s).
- Consults and collaborates with peers to resolve outstanding issues.
- Acts as a technical resource for both colleagues and clinical customer base.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree is required. Occupationally specific education in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience is required.
Pay
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
