About the Role
The Senior Manager of Human Resources oversees all aspects of the human resources department within an assigned area, including recruitment, training, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. This role supervises a team of HR professionals and collaborates with senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals. The position also involves developing policies and procedures to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Fully understand all operational aspects within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Support recruitment and selection processes to ensure competent and capable new hires.
- Implement and monitor the Division’s EEO plans and policies.
- Investigate employee complaints and work with management to achieve resolutions.
- Facilitate one-on-one employee interviews and communicate feedback to management.
- Act as a change agent to facilitate new initiatives.
- Identify obstacles and issues with managers to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Develop strategies to improve managerial effectiveness.
- Address staffing requirements to meet business plans and strengthen HR capabilities.
- Develop strategies to measure and enhance employee and team performance.
- Review and recommend new concepts for rewarding and recognizing performance.
- Advise managers on solutions for organizational problems and succession planning.
- Assist with talent pool development and serve as a contact for internal candidates.
- Advise on strategies to develop technical and management skills within the organization.
- Lead employee relations initiatives and assist with problem-solving.
- Provide project leadership for HR programs focused on organizational effectiveness.
- Work with managers on annual salaried planning to reward performance and contributions.
- Utilize technology to execute responsibilities effectively.
- Assist with HR-related aspects of new acquisitions and growth initiatives.
- Represent the Division on Company-wide project teams.
- Coordinate with the Legal Department on labor and employee relations issues.
- Travel overnight as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- HR certification is preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Working knowledge of the aggregate business is advantageous.
