About the role
We are looking for a Senior Highway Project Manager to join our team. This role involves managing various aspects of highway and local road projects, from planning and design to coordination with subconsultants and keeping clients satisfied.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day communication with clients, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep project on schedule and within budget, and keep client satisfied
- Work with a team as a project manager or task leader for primarily highway and/or local road projects in the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for projects of various sizes and complexity
- Produce plans such as Roadway Sections, Alignment/Right of Way Plans, Temporary Erosion Control Plans, Site Preparation Plans, Roadway Profiles, Drainage Plans and Profiles, Utility Plans (Water & Sewer), Paving, Pavement Marking Plans, Signing Plans, and Traffic Control Plans
- Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance planning team throughout entire project's development
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in highway design and/or municipal roadway design
- PE required and if registered as a PE in another state, the candidate must gain Texas reciprocity within 6 months
- MS Office knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
- Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams
- Project management skills desirable
- Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
- Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items
