What You'll Do
- Lead and support the design and delivery of transportation projects for clients including PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), the City of Pittsburgh, and other public agencies.
- Develop roadway geometrics, roadway models, cross sections, traffic control plans, signing and pavement marking plans, utility coordination efforts, and right-of-way plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, client stakeholders, and marketing professionals to deliver successful projects and support new opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers, helping team members grow and succeed.
- Cookordination project activities to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Assist with the preparation of specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
- Contribute to proposal development, including technical approaches and pricing strategies.
- Support client relationship management, business development initiatives, and industry engagement efforts that help expand STV's presence and services.
- Build strong working relationships with client project managers, technical staff, and key stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania.
- 12+ years of experience in highway engineering and transportation design.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and/or other transportation agencies.
- Strong understanding of AASHTO design standards.
- Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated experience leading highway design projects from planning through delivery.
- Ability to develop project scopes, prepare engineering estimates, and oversee quality control activities.
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Interest in participating in client service, proposal development, and business development activities.

Pay and Benefits
- Compensation Range: $132,708.77 - $151,667.16
