About the role

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at HDR. This role serves as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects. You will resolve problems of greater scope and complexity, possess strong analytical skills including Dynamic analysis, non-linear analysis, and deep foundation design, and have strong software skills such as ETABS, SAFE, Perform 3D, RAM Structural System, and Ensoft.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects; resolve problems of greater scope and complexity
  • Possess strong analytical skills including Dynamic analysis, non-linear analysis, and deep foundation design
  • Strong software skills such as ETABS, SAFE, Perform 3D, RAM Structural System, and Ensoft
  • Plan and develop projects or design activities
  • Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians
  • Serve as Project Manager on larger projects, though project management is not sole focus of position
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering, Structural emphasis
  • 10+ years of OSHPD / HCAI experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in design calculations and layouts
  • Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood
  • Understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position is $136,000 - $195,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
