About the Role
A Healthcare Planner is a leader who has exceptional planning and facilitation skills to work directly with clients. A manager of company and project resources to successfully complete projects. A strategic business thinker who can create, apply, and implement methodologies, standardization and processes across practice areas. Someone who creates client connections to generate project leads and develop business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate client needs and proactively solve problems before they arise.
- Actively participate in decision-making with clients and client executives.
- Promote polished proposal writing, scoping, pricing, and project execution skills.
- Manage the staffing of client managers.
- Identify and lead process improvements to streamline internal project delivery and champion internal change management and team coaching.
- Create a visionary approach to lead clients and teams to achieve consensus.
- Lead project quality assurance, quality control, and risk management.
- Support service area and practice area leaders in aspects of service line development, planning, and billing.
- Take the lead in any aspect of project delivery (beyond expertise).
- Participate actively in thought leadership initiatives such as blogs, podcasts, conferences, white papers, etc.
- Build collaborative and productive relationships with junior advisors and clients.
- Contribute and support new product/service lines and development.
- Champion the use of tools and analytics.
- Lead and coordinate project pursuits and heavily engage in business development.
- Develop and lead client and internal workshops.
- Perform in a variety of roles throughout the project lifecycle with both specialist and functional knowledge.
- Be a leader and mentor to team members and respective practice area members.
- Contribute to product development and can lead a service/product line.
- Assist in aligning the team culturally and with the firm's mission, vision, and values.
Focus Acute Care and Ambulatory Facilities
Focus Acute Care and Ambulatory facilities. Sets/Experience:
- Experience in developing and implementing planning studies.
- Understanding of operational planning, facilities management, facility construction, managing lease agreements and policies.
- Research, investigate, and document healthcare facility existing conditions and adequacy in accordance with applicable codes, FGI, and best practices.
- Support strategy-related planning solutions, including forecasting need driving facility demand.
- Analyze and develop plans to assist with the development and evaluation of site criteria regarding client and clinical needs.
- Manage space and functional program documentation.
- Provide Revit, AutoCAD, and graphic support for healthcare facility and strategic planning activities.
- Analysis of existing facilities via the assessment of square footage and key room quantity information against owner and industry benchmarks and standards.
- Develop space planning concepts, test fits, evaluations, and participate in and/or lead facility walkthroughs (GEMBA walks).
- Facilitate user/focus group sessions in planning, programming, schematic design, and design development meetings.
- Apply healthcare delivery models and develop operational alternatives with supporting space requirements.
- Support development of complete healthcare planning documentation, facility master planning, and functional planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or related field.
- Minimum 10-15 years relevant experience on planning healthcare projects (acute care, ambulatory, essential services, etc.).
- Accredited by the American College of Healthcare Architects.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and other related tools to work in a multi-discipline team.
- Strong technical and critical thinking skills that apply in the development of planning projects and transfer into documentation, applying thorough understanding of codes, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Additional certifications or accreditations for LEAN, EDAC, WELL AP, LEED AP, etc., are preferred.
- Proficiency in computational design is preferred.
- Proficiency in Power BI and Adobe Suite is preferred.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to hazardous working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
