About the role
Wing is looking for a Senior Hardware Validation Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team. This role is onsite based in Palo Alto, CA.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leader managing overall hardware system design integrity and quality optimization of our aircraft and ground infrastructure.
- Lead cross functional collaboration in owning test plan development, managing validation plans, troubleshooting issues, and documenting results to ensure product design quality and system performance.
- Lead complete design verification planning and test execution, including signal characterization, power delivery and system interoperability testing through leveraging internal and partner resources.
- Lead cross-functional teams and drive issues resolution including those related to hardware architecture, system performance, production quality and overall system integration.
- Lead contract manufacturing partners and suppliers on transitioning products from concept to mass production and partner with engineering team leaders to assess the technical feasibility of the system program schedule.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in consumer electronics/embedded system design engineering, including CPU/SoC, memory, high speed communication interfaces, low speed busses and/or power supplies.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience managing OEM/ODM/JDM/CM partners and working with CPU/chipset, memory vendors.
- Understand the entire product development process for mass-volume production design, with focus on design for manufacturing and design for test.
- Experience in one of these: signal/power integrity simulation and lab correlation in both frequency & time domain.
- Software programming for test automation and validation script development.
- Applied experience with interface technologies: CAN, USB, I2C, RS232, Ethernet and aircraft system technologies: GPS, IMUs, Air Data Systems, Servos/Motors, Cameras and RF Communications.
Qualifications
- Experience in designing and validating hardware systems for complex, high-speed, and high-reliability applications.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices, including circuit design, signal integrity, and power supply design.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage project timelines effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
- Proficiency in hardware design tools such as Cadence, Altium Designer, or similar.
