About the role
We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to meet customer requirements.
- Design and develop 3U and 6U VPX single board computers, FPGA, switch, and I/O cards for high-speed data processing.
- Design and develop custom form-factor systems with SBC, FPGA, switch, I/O cards, power supplies, and thermal management.
- Translate system requirements into practical hardware designs, considering performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
- Perform hardware design analysis, troubleshooting, and technical evaluations throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in DoD embedded systems and hardware design (SBC, FPGA, switch, I/O card development).
- Experience designing mixed-signal, high-speed digital, analog, and low-power, high-current circuits in high-reliability environments.
- Experience with high-density interconnect (HDI) PCB designs (multi-layer boards, blind/buried vias, uVia structures).
- Proficiency with Siemens Expedition DX Designer (SCH) and Siemens Expedition PCB tools.
- US Citizenship required; active DoD security clearance preferred.
