About the Role

This position is focused on the design, development, validation, and launch of embedded electronic hardware supporting automotive seating, comfort, actuator, motor, and interior system applications. The engineer will lead hardware development activities from requirements analysis and hardware architecture through schematic design, PCB development, validation, and production launch. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring active involvement in product design activities, not solely testing or validation support. The role will work closely with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Validation, Manufacturing, and Customer teams to deliver reliable automotive products that meet customer, quality, timing, and cost objectives. Full-time onsite presence is required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer and system requirements using ALM tools such as Codebeamer. Translate requirements into hardware architecture, design solutions, verification, and validation criteria. Support requirements traceability throughout the development lifecycle. Participate in requirements reviews and technical discussions.
  • Design and develop automotive embedded electronic hardware solutions. Create and review schematics, component selection, circuit design, and PCB development activities. Support hardware architecture development and design reviews. Contribute to prototype development and product maturation activities. Support component, symbol, and footprint library management activities.
  • Perform engineering analysis including WCCA, thermal analysis, electrical simulations, and EMC considerations. Support verification and validation activities throughout product development. Troubleshoot hardware issues and support root cause investigations. Ensure compliance with automotive, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support programs from concept through production launch. Participate in customer reviews and program milestone activities. Support OEM and Tier 1 product development requirements. Ensure hardware solutions meet quality, performance, reliability, and timing objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to hardware team members. Collaborate with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Quality, Validation, and Manufacturing teams. Clearly communicate technical concepts, risks, and recommendations. Actively participate in customer-facing technical discussions.
  • Apply DFM, DFA, DFC, DFT, and DFR principles throughout development. Ensure products are designed for manufacturability, reliability, quality, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in automotive embedded hardware development and electronic product design environments.
  • Strong experience with schematic design and electronic hardware development.
  • Experience supporting PCB layout and hardware design activities.
  • Experience with WCCA, engineering calculations, and hardware simulations.
  • Experience designing for EMC and supporting EMC validation activities.
  • Experience with CAN and LIN communication integration.
  • Experience supporting automotive OEM or Tier 1 development programs.
  • Experience with requirements management and requirements traceability.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and technical leadership skills.
