About the role
Amazon Web Services' Network Products Development team is looking for experienced hardware engineering professionals to help build our next generation networking platforms. The right candidate will play a key role in the design and development of our next generation Ethernet switching platforms for our world class datacenters.
Key responsibilities
- Lead high-speed digital design in the networking field, including architectural definition, specification, key component selection, detailed design, working closely with PCB designers, testing, and transition to manufacturing
- Apply skills in simulation, timing analysis, thermal analysis, and EMC
- Interface with cross functional teams such as mechanical engineers, HW engineers, SI engineers, diagnostic engineers, and manufacturing engineers as well as with outside vendors and developers
- Define and implement modular chassis functions such as system redundancy, hot-swap, power distribution, environmental control and system management
- Work with Asian ODM and JDM partners, both in development and in manufacturing
Basic qualifications
- BSEE with 10+ years experience in hardware board and systems development, with products taken from concept to mass production
- Recent 5+ years experience with Ethernet switching fabrics, Ethernet PHY and SerDes interfaces, embedded CPU subsystems, DDR2/DDR3/DDR4 memory design, network processors, I2C, USB
- Experience with high-speed PCB design and AC/DC PI
- 5+ years of experience in CPLD/FPGA design using VHDL or Verilog
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Experience troubleshooting with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and specialized test equipment such as PCI analyzers and in-circuit-emulators
- Strong experience in modular chassis based enterprise/carrier products
- Previous experience in defining and designing modular chassis based products
- Previous experience working with Asian ODM and JDM partners
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- CPLD/FPGA experience in the areas of advanced HW control/monitoring/logging
- Experience in specifying mechanical enclosures
- Experience in analog design, signal integrity analysis, DC-DC switcher design, EDVT, and MDVT
Pay
- USA, CA, Cupertino: $183,000.00 - $247,600.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Bellevue: $159,200.00 - $215,300.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $159,200.00 - $215,300.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Virtual Location - Washington: $159,200.00 - $215,300.00 USD annually
