Position Overview
The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for soliciting, developing, and securing corporate group business for Galleria Park Hotel, with a strong emphasis on proactive outbound sales activity. This individual will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through contract negotiation, turnover, and ongoing account development.
Responsibilities
- Proactively solicit and secure corporate group business through outside sales efforts, prospecting, networking, lead follow-up, and account development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through direct outreach, inbound lead conversion, third-party lead sources, and local market intelligence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, intermediaries, and key decision-makers
- Manage sales inquiries and RFPs with urgency, professionalism, and a strong focus on conversion
- Prepare and present customized proposals, pricing strategies, and contracts aligned with hotel revenue goals and market strategy
- Conduct site tours, client visits, sales calls, and presentations that effectively communicate the hotel’s value proposition and competitive advantages
- Negotiate group contracts and commitments with a strong understanding of need dates, displacement, pattern management, and total account value
- Collaborate closely with revenue management, operations, and hotel leadership to ensure smart business decisions and a seamless transition from signed contract to execution
- Maintain strong knowledge of market trends, competitor activity, pace, and demand generators in the San Francisco market
- Participate in sales action planning, forecasting, pipeline management, and account strategy discussions
- Represent Galleria Park Hotel and CoralTree Hospitality with professionalism, energy, credibility, and a genuine passion for hospitality
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years with proven experience in hotel sales, with a strong preference for candidates who have directly sold group and corporate group business
- A track record of prospecting, developing, and closing business rather than relying solely on inbound leads
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- The ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and stay focused on revenue generation
- A nimble, agile mindset and the confidence to pivot strategies as market conditions evolve
- A polished and professional presence with strong relationship-building instincts
- Understanding of hotel operations and the importance of partnering across departments to deliver an exceptional client and guest experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced, urban, boutique, or lifestyle hotel environment is strongly preferred
