Senior Graphic Designer

About the Role

Creates eye-catching visuals using computer software, prepares technical and non-technical visual presentations through designing art and copy layouts for publication. Collects and analyzes data to make informed organizational decisions. While the primary focus is Senior Graphic Designer, the successful candidate may cross-train in other positions within the department based on organizational needs.

You will be creating visuals for in-store displays, in-store signage, digital collateral, and more. Must be proficient in print production for a variety of items including graphics, social media, and apparel. Ability to learn compliance-related laws and requirements for cannabis packaging is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with creative personnel, marketing, and other graphic professionals to gather information and materials needed for design.
• Designs and executes projects in a fast-paced environment to meet client needs and expectations.
• Illustrates established design concepts by creating rough layouts of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
• Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment.
• Assists with the coordination of photography, artwork, and printing.
• Utilizes applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, and HTML.
• Performs work under minimal supervision, handling complex issues and problems, and referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
• Learns compliance-related laws and requirements for cannabis packaging.
• Performs other duties as needed in support of business objectives assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of graphic designer experience.
• 4-6 years of marketing experience.
• Experience in a legal cannabis market highly preferred.
• Proficient/Expert in Adobe Acrobat & Adobe Illustrator (print production-focused expertise).
• Detail-oriented and organized with good communication skills.
• Ability to project manage based on priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be punctual, stable, reliable, able to follow instructions, and detail-oriented.
• Works independently and exercises excellent judgment and initiative.
• Coachable, highly motivated, and driven to succeed.

Additional Requirements

• Must be over 21 years of age.
• Available for on-site operations work Monday-Friday; must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Willingness and ability to undergo cross-training in various roles within the department as required.
• Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and/or working on a computer.
• Able to stand up to 4 hours at a time.
• Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and twist for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift 15 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
