Senior Graphic Designer
Phoenix is Arizona’s major city and the fifth most populated city in the United States. It includes the posh resorts and green golf courses of Scottsdale, Tempe’s lively college-town vibes, arts-friendly Mesa and pro-sports hub Glendale, several American Indian tribal lands, and the suburban cities of Chandler and Gilbert. This is a remote opportunity with quarterly in-person meetings in the Phoenix Metro area, ideal for candidates residing within two hours of Phoenix.
About the role
This position supports Banner Health’s Brand Design function by developing high-quality, brand-compliant visual assets that represent Banner Health and its sub-brands across markets and service lines. This role produces and oversees development of creative materials by approved Brand Design vendors that support marketing, growth, and communications initiatives across digital and print channels. The incumbent works within established brand standards and contributes to consistent, high-quality visual expression across Banner touchpoints. This role is responsible for supporting brand review processes, ensuring creative materials developed internally or by approved agencies align with approved visual identity standards.
Responsibilities
- Designs, produces and oversees development by approved vendors—consistently high-quality visual assets for digital and print channels, including marketing materials such as social graphics, presentations, brochures, and campaign assets.
- Translate creative briefs into effective visual solutions and support campaign and content initiatives with on-brand design execution.
- Applies Banner Health brand standards consistently across projects, while supporting maintenance and evolution of brand guidelines under Brand Design and Brand Management leadership to ensure visual consistency across deliverables and channels.
- Prepares files for print and digital production, including any required coordination with vendors to ensure accurate output.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality expectations, while maintaining organized source files and production-ready assets.
- Partners with marketing, digital, and communications teams to understand project needs; and participate in creative discussions and brainstorming sessions to incorporate feedback constructively and revise work as needed.
- Practices continuous improvement by staying current on design tools and industry best practices, while seeking opportunities to improve creative quality and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4 or more years of professional graphic design experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design and layout skills, as well as strong understanding of typography, color, and layout principles.
- Experience designing for both digital and print.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, regulated, or multi-brand environments.
- Experience with motion graphics or video editing.
- Familiarity with UI/UX principles.
- Basic knowledge of web design or HTML/CSS.
- Experience working within in-house creative teams.
