Senior Global Trade Compliance Senior Analyst

Purpose

Runs the day-to-day trade compliance operation. Creates SOPs, and internal audits. Owns the global tariff classification framework, complex classifications, and binding ruling requests. Acts as the technical authority for HTS/HS decisions across the brand portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the global compliance manual, SOPs, and decision logs.
  • Determine and maintain HTS classifications for all SKUs across US, UK, CA, EU, CN.
  • Support classification questions on customs holds and customs brokers.
  • Maintain the master classification database and SKU intake workflow.
  • Identify and execute tariff-engineering opportunities (legitimate reclassification, set/component splits, value-added reclass).
  • Train teams on classification principles.
  • Run weekly entry reviews, monthly KPI reporting, and internal compliance audits.
  • Own the team's project portfolio (FTA qualification campaigns, classification cleanups, drawback filings).
  • Manage broker SLAs and broker calls; resolve escalations on entry exceptions.
  • Lead onboarding and training for new compliance hires and for SKU/sourcing partners across brand teams.
  • Backstop the Director on regulatory submissions and customs authority correspondence.
  • Own the recordkeeping system (5-year retention) and prep for any external audits.
  • Review 7501s and entry summaries before liquidation; flag and resolve discrepancies with brokers.
  • Partner with Procurement on supplier changes that affect origin qualification.
  • Liaise with Customs brokers, forwarders and internal stakeholders to resolve compliance issues.
  • Included but not limited to additional duties assigned from GTC Director.
  • Possibly up to 10% of travel annually.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of global trade compliance and HTS classification experience at an importer or licensed broker required.
  • 2+ years leading a small team preferred.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and/or CCS preferred.
  • Familiarity with European trade compliance rules.
  • Hands-on experience with ACE, broker portals, and at least one ERP (NetSuite preferred for Unybrands).
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Strong project management skills; comfortable running cross-functional working groups.
  • Experience in e-commerce or retail sector a plus.
