Senior GL Accountant

General responsibilities

• Oversight of operational accounting for assigned GLs
• Financial statement analysis and audit support
• Month-end close duties including COGS and inventory
• Preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and balance analysis
• End-to-end process for quarterly inventory obsolescence reserve and semi-annual cost roll
• Management of monthly accounting for fixed assets and intangibles
• Posting journal entries and assessment of assets for capitalization and impairment
• Accounting duties for retail stores including journal entries, reconciliations, and management reporting
• Performing ad-hoc analysis and reporting tasks as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of general financial and cost accounting principles, including experience with cost-of-goods sold and inventory
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work independently
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root-cause issues and propose solutions to leadership
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Passionate and energetic team player who can work cross-functionally with a variety of non-finance teams
• Proficient with accounting software and experience using an ERP system, business intelligence and reporting tools
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Qualifications

• CPA preferred
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics
• Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance
