Senior GL Accounrtant

Location: Leesburg, VA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, Tues–Thurs). Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire.

About the role

A rapidly growing organization in the medical device space is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join their expanding accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Reconcile general ledger accounts including cash, accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany balances
• Maintain supporting documentation in compliance with audit and internal control requirements
• Perform variance analysis and investigate unusual financial activity
• Support fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure tracking
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (AP, AR, Supply Chain) to ensure accurate transaction flow
• Assist with SOX compliance and internal control procedures
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month‑end close processes
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, JD Edwards)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Pay

$45 - $50 /hr

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
