About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Project Manager to join our Metro Area team. The successful candidate will grow our geotechnical practice, serve as a technical leader and mentor, manage projects, and contribute to strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Grow our geotechnical practice in New York/New Jersey by developing new and existing clients and markets while cross-selling GEI’s other core business areas.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor.
- Aid in recruiting and training of staff.
- Manage the technical, financial, and client relationship aspects of projects.
- Prepare proposals for professional services and develop new business in areas of specialty geotechnical services.
- Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and making presentations at industry events.
- Contribute to strategic planning at the office and regional levels.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer, NY and NJ licenses preferred.
- Seller-Doer with strong regional relationships, entrepreneurial spirit, and a successful track record in business development.
- Experience working on interdisciplinary design teams with the ability to be conversant in a variety of technical fields (e.g., environmental, civil, and structural engineering).
- 15+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering consulting, with 10+ years in a project/program management role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
