Position Overview
The organization is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer to join its growing team. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing client relationships, leading project execution, mentoring staff, and delivering high-quality geotechnical engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Project Management
- Serve as a primary client contact, building and maintaining strong relationships
- Prepare proposals, manage budgets, schedules, and project billing
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery on time and within scope
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions
Geotechnical Engineering & Technical Oversight
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, construction plans, and engineering recommendations
- Design foundations, retaining walls, and excavation support systems
- Perform geotechnical investigations, including logging borings and conducting site observations
- Conduct and review advanced analytical modelling and design (e.g., slope stability, settlement, and ground behaviour)
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and quality expectations
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff
- Review engineering work for accuracy, completeness, and quality
- Support internal knowledge sharing and professional development initiatives
Strategy, Growth, and Operations
- Contribute to the continued growth and strategic direction of the geotechnical practice
- Identify opportunities for service expansion and new client engagement
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and project delivery
- Foster collaboration across teams and offices
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering (Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related discipline required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Strong background in geotechnical investigation, design, and construction support
- Experience with earthwork, deep foundations, load testing, retaining structures, and excavation systems
- Proficiency with relevant geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, LPILE, GRLWEAP, MSEW)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to perform fieldwork and visit active job sites
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
