Your impact
Your impact As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead geotechnical tasks and lead the delivery for on a wide variety of projects, with a focus on medium- to large-scale civil infrastructure projects primarily in the water and transportation markets. These projects will include multiple delivery methods including conventional design-bid-build projects, as well as design-build projects.
Your responsibilities
- Mentoring less experienced staff
- Leading projects in the development and implementation of geotechnical data collection programs
- Geotechnical analyses
- Preparation of reports
- Development of contract documents
- Providing support during project construction
- Following projects from concept development through the construction phase with our engineers
Technical skills
- Knowledge and experience in exploration methods, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, and laboratory testing for soil and rock
- Experience with design, construction, and inspection of dam and levee projects
- Design of typical geotechnical structures, such as shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and ground improvement
- An understanding of earthquake hazard evaluations, including liquefaction assessments, site-specific ground response analyses, and development of design spectra
- Preparation of technical reports
- Familiarity with computer programs for geotechnical analyses, such as SETTLE3D, LPILE, SLIDE or SLOPE, MATHCAD, FB-Multipier, PLAXIS, and FLAC
- Preparation of design drawings and specifications
What you'll need
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering
- M.S/Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering
- 15 years of geotechnical consulting experience with a focus on heavy infrastructure projects
- PE license
- 10 or more years of geotechnical design experience in the dams market preferred

Pay and schedule
The base salary range for this position is $142,200.00 to $248,800.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
