About the role

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a Senior-Level Geotechnical Engineer with 7 or more years of experience for our office in Georgetown, Delaware. The individual in this role will manage geotechnical projects and staff for the completion of multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical exploration and construction observation and testing related to earthwork, foundation, and construction materials
  • Provide technical leadership and serve as team leader on routine and complex projects
  • Oversee geotechnical staff for construction observation, testing services, and associated efforts
  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports, proposals, and invoices
  • Monitor budgets, estimate workforce needs, and assign work to meet deadlines
  • Stay current with local methods and regulations governing geotechnical practice
  • Proactively establish new clients and maintain existing client relationships
  • Assist in planning, research, and evaluation of new market areas with sensitivity to business interests and profitability
  • Conduct subsurface investigations, including borings and test pits, and review exploration logs, lab results, and plans
  • Troubleshoot soils-related issues on construction projects
  • Promote the goals and objectives of the firm as an effective team builder and leader
  • Practice loss prevention effectively
  • Play an active role in collections

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia preferred)
  • At least 7 years of relevant geotechnical work experience
  • Own transportation, valid driver’s license, and good driving record
  • Enjoy working outdoors
  • NICET, ACI, and/or other certifications desired
