Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish.
  • Develop project scopes, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Plan and oversee laboratory testing programs.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, including:
    • Shoring design
    • Earth retention systems
    • Slope stability analysis
    • Shallow and deep foundation design
    • Dewatering systems
    • Dam design
    • Compressible soil analysis
    • Rock mechanics (preferred)
  • Perform finite element modeling and seismic site response analysis (strongly preferred).
  • Prepare and review technical reports and engineering recommendations.
  • Support business development and client relationship management.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers.
  • Review project invoices for compliance with approved proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of Geotechnical Engineering experience.
  • Licensed Geotechnical Engineer (GE) in California, or able to obtain licensure within 6 months.
  • Strong project management and client communication skills.
  • Experience with geotechnical software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Able to work on-site in San Jose, CA.
