Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Manage geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish.
- Develop project scopes, proposals, and cost estimates.
- Plan and oversee laboratory testing programs.
- Perform geotechnical analyses, including:
- Shoring design
- Earth retention systems
- Slope stability analysis
- Shallow and deep foundation design
- Dewatering systems
- Dam design
- Compressible soil analysis
- Rock mechanics (preferred)
- Perform finite element modeling and seismic site response analysis (strongly preferred).
- Prepare and review technical reports and engineering recommendations.
- Support business development and client relationship management.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers.
- Review project invoices for compliance with approved proposals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of Geotechnical Engineering experience.
- Licensed Geotechnical Engineer (GE) in California, or able to obtain licensure within 6 months.
- Strong project management and client communication skills.
- Experience with geotechnical software and engineering analysis tools.
- Able to work on-site in San Jose, CA.
