Senior Geotechnical Engineer
The Opportunity
Planning and executing subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs.
Performing geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, embankments, retaining walls, excavations, pavements, earthworks, slope stabilization, and underground structures.
Interacting with civil and structural engineers to collaborate in the design of foundations, utilities, pavements, and civil structures.
Evaluating and assessing data from field instrumentation (settlement, ground movement around excavations and load tests of piles and anchors) to calibrate predicted performance with actual performance.
Leading the geotechnical design and construction administration for site development projects, including data centers, and/or waterfront structures.
Assisting and eventually leading business development activities
Occasional travel as required for site visits

- Interacting with civil and structural engineers to collaborate in the design of foundations, utilities, pavements, and civil structures.

Requirements
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering
- PE Required. PE and GE in California preferred
- Minimum 6 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with emphasis on site development and/or heavy civil structures.
- Proven experience in geotechnical project planning, analyses, design, construction observation, and preparation of deliverables
- Working knowledge of seismic analysis and codes
- Familiarity with soil hazards in a variety of soil conditions
- Experience with finite element software for static and seismic soil-structure interaction is preferred using software such as PLAXIS, FLAC, and/or LS-DYNA

Pay
- San Francisco Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco is $140,000 to $160,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
