Senior GBS Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical expertise in the installation, repair, and operation of Global Broadcast Service (GBS) across its product line (AN/PRS-11, AN/TSR-11, AN/USQ-196, AN/usr-10 family).
• Coordinate response to ship and field technical problems (e.g., CASREPS).
• Provide technical leadership to other technicians.
• Offer technical advice to the GBS engineering team.
• Ensure products/services and processes meet quality and safety standards.
• Test equipment to verify effective and safe operation.
• Interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of test specimens.
• Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) to prepare shop drawings for model construction.
• Apply knowledge of material specifications and fabrication methods.
• Mentor and/or train junior engineers/technicians.
• Complete SOVT and provide on-site technical assistance for GBS variants.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED, related military experience, or trade/industrial school graduate.
• 10 years’ professional experience solving technical problems.
• Trained in skills and techniques related to engineering and/or software design/maintenance.
• Practical understanding of engineering concepts.
• Ability to interpret plans and drawings.
• Experience with computer-aided drafting (CAD).
• Familiarity with material specifications and fabrication methods.
• Active Secret US DoD security clearance (required and must be maintained).

Preferred Skills

• Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience with GBS systems.
• Technical understanding of system operation and function of GBS.
• Experience reviewing technical documentation of system troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures.
• Technical experience with current GBS variants and their installations.
• Proficiency in using test equipment for troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting and providing technical support for end-to-end architecture.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.

Pay

$95K - $105K annual salary.
