Senior Gas Turbine Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and drawing release of various gas turbine components and subassemblies, including bearings, seals, gears, and splines.
• Perform risk assessments via hand calculations or analysis to identify concerns before formal design reviews.
• Interface with manufacturing engineering and supply chain to ensure parts are designed for manufacturability.
• Lead third-party design consultants for detailed design of gas turbine parts.
• Maintain compliance with engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
• Interface as technical authority with field service team for gas turbine parts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of mechanical design experience.
• In-depth design and manufacturing knowledge of gas turbine bearings, gears, seals, splines, and actuation systems.
• Experience reviewing and/or releasing engineering drawings.
• Able to work with others to resolve complex problems.
• Ability to perform hand calculations to assess design risk.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.

Qualifications

• US work authorization is required.
• The company conducts pre-employment drug screens and background checks.

Desired Qualifications

• MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of gas turbine design and manufacturing experience.
• GD&T experience per ASME Y14.5.
• New-make manufacturing and repair processes of aeroderivative turbines (LM6000/LM2500).
