Senior Fund Manager

Company Overview LaSalle Network has partnered with a company that is a provider of specialized fund administration services for Managers and General Partners of private equity funds, specifically Buyout, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and Fund-of-Funds. Job Description The Senior Fund Manager is responsible for managing and leading client fund engagements, with a particular focus on SBIC (Small Business Investment Company) funds. Working closely with the Engagement Director and client, the Senior Fund Manager will oversee fund accounting, capital account maintenance, financial statement preparation, investor reporting, audit and tax processes, and overall fund administration. Direct SBIC fund experience is required for this position. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SBIC fund structures, SBA requirements, partnership accounting, investment accounting, and the operational complexities associated with SBIC funds. Essential Functions Manage and oversee the day-to-day administration and accounting of SBIC fundsMaintain frequent client contact to stay abreast of ongoing fund activities and transactionsServe as a primary point of contact for clients and effectively manage client expectationsSupervise Fund Controllers, Associates, and other team members supporting client engagementsReview fund accounting, capital account maintenance, allocations, and financial statement preparationOversee quarterly and annual financial reporting and ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverablesSupervise the audit and tax preparation process, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisorsReview communications to clients and their investors on an ongoing basisSupport compliance with applicable SBA/SBIC reporting and regulatory requirementsOversee investment activity, including acquisitions, dispositions, income recognition, and portfolio company transactionsAssist with fund-level cash management, capital calls, distributions, and other fund transactionsManage engagement staffing, utilization, deadlines, and overall engagement efficiencyIdentify opportunities to improve fund administration processes and client serviceMentor and train junior staff membersAssist with sourcing new clients, preparing proposals, and supporting business development initiativesPartner with Engagement Directors and senior leadership on complex client and fund matters Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree required; Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related concentration preferred5+ years of relevant fund accounting, fund administration, or private equity/private credit experienceDirect, hands-on experience working with SBIC funds is REQUIREDStrong understanding of SBIC fund structures and SBA requirementsStrong knowledge of partnership accounting and investment accountingExperience with financial statement preparation and reviewExperience overseeing fund audits and tax processesExperience managing or mentoring junior accounting/fund administration professionalsStrong client-facing and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook Preferred Qualifications CPA preferredPublic accounting experience preferred - top 20 firmPrior experience working directly with an SBIC fund manager, SBIC investment firm, or SBIC fund administrator What’s in it for me?
