Job Title: Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Infrastructure/DevOps)

About the Role

Our partner company is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Infrastructure/DevOps) based in the United States. This role involves modernizing large-scale technology systems that support important national missions. Key responsibilities include designing and operating secure, cloud-native infrastructure, developing and managing cloud environments, architecting and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, implementing DevSecOps practices, and building secure architectures based on Zero Trust principles.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code practices, primarily through AWS CDK and TypeScript.
  • Develop and manage cloud environments, including networking, compute resources, data stores, secrets management, and platform automation.
  • Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines with advanced capabilities such as affected-only builds, remote caching, merge queues, and test optimization.
  • Implement DevSecOps practices by integrating security controls, compliance automation, artifact signing, and security evidence generation directly into development workflows.
  • Build and maintain secure architectures based on Zero Trust principles, including identity integration, mTLS, policy-as-code authorization, and continuous security monitoring.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering workflows while ensuring all generated code meets production-quality standards.
  • Improve engineering processes by maintaining development frameworks, standards, and automated workflows that increase team productivity.
  • Support full-stack engineering efforts by troubleshooting issues across application code, infrastructure, databases, and deployment systems.
  • Ensure platforms meet strict security and compliance requirements, including DoD Impact Level 4 (IL4) standards and related security frameworks.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and overall developer experience.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • 7+ years of experience building, deploying, and operating production cloud platforms.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially AWS CDK and TypeScript.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture, distributed systems, DevOps practices, and production engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic AI development tools such as Codex, Claude Code, or similar solutions in real-world software environments.
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Prisma or similar database technologies.
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes/EKS or ECS.
  • Proven experience operating secure cloud infrastructure in high-compliance environments, ideally supporting DoD IL4 or similar regulated systems.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD architecture, automated testing strategies, observability, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Experience with security hardening practices, including STIG requirements and secure container or operating system configurations, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with developer experience improvements, build performance optimization, legacy system modernization, or workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work across the entire technology stack.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package based on experience, technical expertise, certifications, security clearance level, and market factors.
  • Fully remote work opportunity within the United States.
  • Opportunity to contribute to high-impact modernization projects supporting critical national missions.
  • Work with advanced cloud technologies, AI-assisted development practices, and secure infrastructure solutions.
  • Collaborative environment focused on engineering excellence, innovation, and mission-driven outcomes.
  • Comprehensive employee benefits programs.
  • Potential eligibility for performance-based or incentive compensation.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to equal opportunity and professional growth.
