About the role

Vantor is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to develop and enhance advanced geospatial and Motion GEOINT applications. This role involves building scalable, high-performance solutions across the full technology stack, including interactive visualization and 3D capabilities. You will work within an Agile team to deliver mission-critical features, improve system architecture, and optimize performance across distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications supporting geospatial and Motion GEOINT systems.
  • Build scalable, high-performance software across front-end, back-end, and data layers.
  • Develop interactive visualization and 3D rendering capabilities for GIS and simulation-based applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical features and enhancements.
  • Contribute to system architecture, object-oriented design, and microservices-based solutions.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and configuration management.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, standups, and code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across multiple environments and technology stacks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with CI poly (or willingness to obtain a CI poly).
  • 10+ years of full stack software development experience.
  • Experience with geospatial applications, including Motion GEOINT data, concepts, and systems.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with modern development practices, including version control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and distributed systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Desired Qualifications

  • Expertise in modern frameworks and technologies such as React, Angular, Node.js, Django, or Spring.
  • Experience with 3D graphics, visualization, or game engine technologies (e.g., OpenGL, WebGL, Unity, CesiumJS).
  • Strong background in geospatial tools and platforms (e.g., PostGIS, GeoServer, ArcGIS, QGIS, Leaflet, Mapbox).
  • Experience with big data and distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, GeoWave).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Chef, Vagrant, automated configuration management).
  • Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies (e.g., AWS, VMware, VirtualBox).
  • Proficiency with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, or SQLite.
  • Experience with multithreading, multiprocessing, and high-performance computing.
  • Knowledge of mobile development platforms (Android, iOS, Windows).
  • Strong UI/UX development experience with a focus on usability and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.

Pay

The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $165,000.00 – $220,000.00 – $242,000.00 annually. For all other states, geographic cost of labor is used to develop market-driven ranges for each location where we hire.
