Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java / AWS / React)

About the role

Join a dynamic engineering team driving mission-critical software solutions for a leading US financial services institution. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of complex distributed systems while shaping technical strategy and mentoring fellow engineers. Location: Whippany, New Jersey. Job type: Contract. Salary: $56.66 - $60.00 per hour. Work hours: 8am to 5pm. Education: Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build enterprise full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and React or Angular.
• Design and implement modern cloud applications across AWS services including serverless, containerized workloads, and relational/NoSQL databases.
• Establish automated CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and production observability to maintain platform reliability.
• Collaborate closely with solution architects and product leadership to define execution roadmaps and system designs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building modern web applications using React or Angular.
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud architecture (EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, IAM) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a Master's degree in a related technical discipline.
• Ability to work on-site 3 days per week at the Whippany, NJ location.
• Prior engineering experience within the US Financial Services or Banking sector.
• Demonstrated expertise with event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
• Active industry certifications in AWS or Java development.
