Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build responsive and modern web applications using Angular.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
• Perform hands-on coding, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Utilize AI-powered development tools to:
  • Accelerate coding and debugging.
  • Generate unit and integration test cases.
  • Improve documentation and code quality.
  • Assist in refactoring and modernization initiatives.
• Implement secure, scalable, and resilient application architectures.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security practices, and DevOps processes.
• Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.

Required Technical Skills

• Backend: Java 8/11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA / Hibernate, Microservices Architecture, REST API Development, Kafka or Messaging Technologies, Maven/Gradle
• Front-End: Angular (Version 12+ preferred), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, RxJS, Angular Material
• Database: SQL Server / PostgreSQL / Oracle, Database Design and Query Optimization
• Cloud & DevOps: Azure / AWS / GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines, GitHub Actions / Jenkins / Azure DevOps

AI & Modern Engineering Expectations

• Demonstrate ability to effectively use AI tools in the software development lifecycle, including AI-assisted code generation and optimization.
• Automated documentation generation.
• Unit test generation and coverage improvement.
• Root cause analysis and debugging support.
• Productivity acceleration while ensuring code correctness and security.
• Prompt engineering skills for software development use cases.
• Critical evaluation and validation of AI-generated code.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role in Crawford, NY is $75,000 – $90,000. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors such as geographic location, education, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, market considerations, and internal pay equity. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions.
