About the Role

The Senior Front Office Assistant performs routine computerized scheduling and administrative functions in an ambulatory/physician office under the direction of the Department Manager, Medical Office Manager, Academic Program Manager, Academic Practice Nurse Manager, and/or the Practice Site Supervisor.

Location: 414 North Mills Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to and ensures compliance with Orlando Health and department-specific policies, procedures, value statements, and Commitment to Excellence standards.
  • Handles multiple simultaneous tasks, including answering telephones, taking messages, filing lab reports, medical records, and other information according to practice policies and procedures.
  • Performs word processing and spreadsheet data entry.
  • Handles charge entry and cash management.
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and insurance companies, including obtaining referrals and/or authorizations.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Indicator activities as assigned.
  • Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Practices efficient use of supplies.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized office.
  • Assists office billing service as requested.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Typing speed of approximately 30 wpm or ability to successfully demonstrate competent use of a practice management computer system.
  • Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a medical office environment.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
