About the role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing store designs alongside our global franchise partners that align with our brand identity and enhance the customer experience. This role involves working closely with our external franchise partners to design, coordinate OSM and monitor construction progress as well as various internal departments, such as real estate, construction, procurement, visual merchandising and store operations, to ensure store layouts are both aesthetically pleasing and functionally efficient.
Responsibilities
- Manages the planning and implementation of Global Franchise Real Estate projects through store design which includes all new stores, existing fleet remodels, and closures.
- Designs effective store layouts that optimize space utilization, and consistently adapts and translates store prototypes to various site conditions and locations.
- Captures and coordinates end-to-end project workflow by meeting project deadlines, including feasibility studies, proposed store planning, external partner coordination and approved store implementation.
- Project manages pre-construction process; effectively supervises partner contacts and reviews drawings for the franchise partner’s architect, engineer, and external vendors to ensure key project milestones are met efficiently and on time.
- Presents design work to leadership and cross functional partners on a weekly basis to ensure all planning feedback to integrated into the design and aligns with brand standards and franchise partner-specific nuances.
- Clearly and effectively communicates with internal and external partners to successfully facilitate the implementation of store designs.
- Prepares/reviews detailed design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, select renderings, shop drawings and landlord documentation, etc. as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Retail Design, or related experience.
- 7+ years of work experience in retail design or similar role.
- Proficiency in design software in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketch-up or similar.
- Knowledgeable of general domestic & international code restrictions.
- Strong understanding of retail design principles, visual merchandising, and customer behavior.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Organized with ability to prioritize and forecast into challenges and/or opportunities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a team of diverse business partners globally.
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Energetic, positive, creative problem solving with a solution-based outlook.
- Self-motivated – ability to work independently and drive results.
