Senior Forklift Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on electric, and propane forklifts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Source and order parts as needed; manage inventory of critical components.
  • Collaborate with operations to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Stay current with evolving forklift technologies and repair techniques.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in automotive/diesel technology preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in forklift equipment repair.
  • Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, electric drive systems, hydraulics, and diagnostics tools.
  • Certified Forklift Technician (CFT) or ASE certification highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy parts up to 75 pounds and work in various environments.
